Calorie Burning Activity: What You Can Do at Home to Burn Calorie
Feeling stuck at home and unable to get out to the gym? Don't worry: There are still lots of ways to get your exercise right around the house and burn some calories.
You won't even really be exercising - you will just be going about normal duties and doing normal chores. The only difference is you can burn calories at the same time!
A great calorie burning activity is to get out into the sunshine and mow your lawn. If you don't have a lawn you could always do some other form of gardening that requires you to be moving around. Pull up weeds, plant some flowers or bulbs. Your choices are limitless!
Another calorie burning activity is to organise your drawers and wardrobes. Take out all the clothes you don't wear anymore, try them on, bag them up and send them to a charity shop. You won't burn a huge amount of calories doing this, but it sure beats slouching in front of the television and not doing any activity at all.
Why not sort out all the old things in your home and have a great big clear out. You could have a garage sale and show people around the items you are selling. Running backwards and forwards would be a great calorie burning activity. Not only will you burn more calories but you will also gain some money for your efforts!
If you have children, why not take them to the park and join in the fun. You can run around with them going from activity to activity. Play on the swings and kick your legs, climb up the slide and come back down again. Not only is taking your children to the park a fun thing for all of you it is also a great calorie burning activity.
If you don't have children but you have a dog, then get out the leash and take the dog to the park instead. Take a ball to throw, which is great for the arms, and run around with your dog. Your dog will love the attention and the exercise and you are taking part in a great calorie burning activity.
Meanwhile, back in the house, some people burn calories just by redecorating a room or rooms in the home. Redecorating involves a lot of lifting moving round furniture, as well as sweeping and dusting and nailing things to the wall. And let's not forget painting. Using those rollers not only burns calories, but builds muscle as well!
Anything that you do normally around the house can be turned into a calorie burning activity; just remember to put a little more effort in the things you do and get your heart pumping. When your heart is pumping fast and hard you know you are getting a good workout!
